Gallery Cosmos Creates Platform for Young Artists

Young artists think that they are getting opportunities to work with experienced artists at Cosmos International Art Exhibition which is very inspirational for them

Cosmos International Art Exhibition 2016 held at Gallery Cosmos, Mohakhali DOHS, Dhaka, started from 27 November-26 December. Around 40 artworks of 28 artists from Bangladesh, Canada, India, Nepal and Pakistan have been displayed at the exhibition.

Nazia Andaleeb Preema , a participant of the art exhibition, thought that this kind of art exhibition inspire young artists.
“Young artists became very inspired through this kind of art exhibition because they can directly communicate with experienced artists share their ideas and this is a great opportunities for them,” said Preema.

Afrozaa Jamil Konka, honorary adviser of Gallery Cosmos and also a participant of the art exhibition, said that the exhibition contains artworks of both prominent and young artists.
“Many of the prominent artist’s artworks have been exhibited here. But it’s a combination of different generation. We selected artwork of artists from different generation “said Konka.

She again said that through group art exhibition, young artist can compere there work with senior artists and can understand the value of their work.


Syed Iqbal, an artist, concerned about Bangladesh’s current situation of art exhibition.
”Art exhibition in our country is much lower than outside countries. Gallery Cosmos did a great work by organizing such an event” said Iqbal.

Sourav Chowdhury, executive manager of Gallery Cosmos, told about the motive behind organizing such an event.
“We want to expand the periphery of knowledge of artists and viewers through this kind of art exhibition. Alongside, we want to develop our own culture through this kind of art exhibition,” said Sourav.
