A film maker could be a greatest instructor ever in the society

 ULAB students got the opportunity to learn about Satyajit Ray's film by ULAB Film Club on December 15 in Campus B.

Three of the sequence of Satyajit Ray film Pather Pancthali, Aparajito, Apur Sansar, (those called Satyajit trilogy) was seen by the student of Film Club, every week start from 9^th November, Sazzad Hossain and Neloy Hossain lectureers  of ULAB discussed about technical, social and analytical things of those film. The students of Media Studies and Journalism and other students of ULAB who are interested to be a film maker attended this session.

 Bondage of society is one of the theme of Satyajit Ray's film, start the discussion, with Niloy Hossain with this line. He said:"Satyajit Ray tell us about the society through his film 'Pather Panchali', now and then the society how much change! then we use to stay in a joint family and now we want to stay singly".

Satyajit Ray is one of the greatest film maker in Indian subcontinent of the 20th century. He was an Indian Bengali film maker. “He has lots of film but to know about the society and bonding of family through film was 'Pather Panchali'" said one of the student Rakib Hassan. He also said: “There is no violence of his film but now a days we saw violence in our social movies”

In this time the special guest of the session Mr. Fuad Chowdury one of the pioneer of Ekushe Television with professor Jude William head of Media Studies and Journalism. He said: “The other countries are also studding communication and film, it is good to see that ULAB start this kind of session”

One of the student ask question about importance of language in a film. He said: “It is the most important thing but try to make more communicative with the visual”

 After leaving the special guest Asaduzzaman Shuvo,President, UlAB Film Club said: “If you think about the fashion seance more realistic in Satyajit Ray’s movie and Sakib Khan and now a days director, they don’t has a sense of fashion”. He also said: “If a movie show the audience the nude things too much then there is no interest to see this, for example if you see a boy addicted with drug, people see but what will happened there is no message”.

Another student Arif said: " A movie can teach us about society and culture which I found in Satyajit Ray's film. Influence of a film which can change the thought and idea of life is happening by his film I think".

Lecturer Niloy end the session with his speech: "You need only 30 minute to change a thought. USA president can turn the whole world in trash but he can not change the society. The film those you see and we analysis because you guys see the area, thought and change. A movie maker is much more powerful then the USA president because change the characteristics of a caretaker is the film and the maker what it can do".
