MECHANICAL LIFE HAS CULTURAL INTEREST

To inspire the students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology
(BUET) in cultural activities, BUET has organized an MME festival on 2016 on
December 6th at BUET main campus.

The organization of Students Association of Materials and
Metallurgical Engineering (SAMME) has organized a day long program. The MME day started with the Flash mob. They
arranged a Flash mob where lots of student participated from the MME department
of BUET. On that spot a student from MME
department Abdullah Shourov said that, “On this day the most beautiful thing on
the ground is the flash mob. Over here we can see students performing together
in one rhythm which can easily grab attention“.

Engineering students tend to be busy with studies and
projects. They barely have time for any kind of recreation. However, in this
crowd of thousands of projects and machines the students of BUET revealed that
they are also an entertainment lover. Though, the word “engineer” doesn’t get
along with “entertainment”. But the future engineers proved that they can
dance, sing and act.
From 7.30 pm the event named cultural night took place in the BUET auditorium. On the cultural night students participates with using their talents. They took part in various kinds of stage performances such as dancing, singing, playing live stage drama and music. Partho Saruthi Sarker a volunteer of SAMME said, “A future engineer can also dance, sing and act in theater, according to him every students have a hidden talent, engineering could be their life but cultural activity is their passion’’.

Sarker Pappu, a singer of the cultural
night said,”Musics that inspires
me the most is rapping. It inspires me because it makes me
feel like there is
hope for everyone to express themselves via rapping.” At the end of the cultural program, there was
a prize giving ceremony to encourage them.
The MME fest was a day long program. There were some others programs held such
as, Grand rally, Inauguration and Materials Go.
